It
is said from tiny acorns grow mighty oaks.
So too, from the seeds sown in 1960, the
World Zoroastrian Congress
has evolved over the years to become a physical
meeting ground for Zoroastrians from far
corners of the world. The first World Congress
was held in Tehran in 1960. Thereafter the
next seven congresses have taken place in
various parts of the world such as Mumbai,
Tehran, Houston and London during the period
1964 to 2005. The themes of all Congresses
have ranged from contact and cooperation
to promoting solidarity. At the closing
session of the 8th World Zoroastrian Congress
in London, the symbolic torch was passed
over to Dubai, for hosting the next World
Zoroastrian Congress in 2009.
The Zoroastrian community in Dubai extends
a very warm welcome to all Zoroastrians
around the world to attend and participate
in the Congress from 28th December
to 31st December 2009 and make
it a memorable event.
